We all have our better features. Our best feature is the one that we need to accentuate with make-up in order to make the most of our looks. If you’re not sure what your best feature is, try to think back on compliments you’ve had. If you’re still not sure, ask your friends. Everybody has something.
Don’t ‘go big’ all over your face, you don’t want to look like a koeksister. Rather draw attention to your perfect eyebrows by always keeping them neatly groomed and slightly darkened. Or go big on your fabulous full lips with a bit of colour or gloss. If you’ve got a great skin, or some well placed freckles on your cheeks, don’t cover them in base, let your natural skin glow.
If you go big with dark shimmery eyes, then don’t have dark shimmery lips to match, rather opt for a pale gloss or matt, but not shimmer. If you go big on the lips then keep the eyes simple and matt. Always put your best feature forward. Hey, some people’s best features are lower down, if you’ve got a great bum, invest in a good pair of jeans…
Confidence and a positive attitude will take you further than make-up, but sometimes make-up is just the thing needed to get that confidence. Yay, make-up!! I’m so glad I’m a girl.
I Studied make-up and special effects in 1993, and still get excited when a booking comes in. I'm glad I made a few good choices in my life, doing make-up for a living was one of them. I love my job!
