So I finally got round to doing the hair course that I didn’t do twenty years ago. I’ll get round to updating my website with the last year’s worth of work at some stage in the next 20 years, but this one was too cool not to share. I’m so excited to do these styles in real life, I think I’m going to have to take my curlers and pay my nieces a visit tomorrow…
I signed up for Kohl’s hair course and then a full week of bookings came in for the same days the course was on which I regretfully turned down, sticking, as one does to one’s first commitment while my stomach turned to acid
Half way through day one I already knew that I had made the right decision. I was picking up quick, easy, professional tricks to solve difficulties that I have experienced so many times.Lindi and Bridget from Kohl handed us the most appropriate practical skills that they’d learnt during their 3 year hair dressing qualifications with their experience guiding us as we re-created all sorts of styles using all their fabulous hair drying, curling & back-combing techniques.
My only regret is not doing this thing sooner.
I was very chuffed with my wedding poof. Note to production houses, this did not happen in 10 minutes 😉
These were just a few of the styles I did on my poppie during the course, I managed to spray hair spray directly into my eye and I also dropped poppies head on the floor a few times. It’s a good thing real models heads don’t come off.
Looking forward to adding a crimper to my tool kit and it’s definitely time to do some fashion shoots
I Studied make-up and special effects in 1993, and still get excited when a booking comes in. I'm glad I made a few good choices in my life, doing make-up for a living was one of them. I love my job!
