Don’t judge to harshly, this was one of the very first jobs I did after college – doing the special effects make-up on a low budget American movie called Cyborg Cop III
The next American movie I worked on was Danger Zone. I loved it, I met Robert Downey Jr and completely lost my tongue, I was starstruck. Billy Zane was also there, I chatted to him several times thinking he was a crew member, had no idea who he was at the time, even when people said he was famous. I’m glad I was clueless, my reaction to Robert Downey Jr was embarrassing enough. My job on Danger Zone was to do the special effects gore on Carry Tagawa, a really nice hawaian guy who I’ve seen in many high profile movies since.
That’s Billy Zane’s profile in the background on the pic below, wearing a peak cap. I’m such a spanner, I should have had the balls to get good shots of all of them. They wouldn’t have minded.
I Studied make-up and special effects in 1993, and still get excited when a booking comes in. I'm glad I made a few good choices in my life, doing make-up for a living was one of them. I love my job!
